This position involves conducting Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments to support our nations veterans. Position Overview : Position Type : Locum Tenens, PRN basis Specialty : General Medicine Start Date : ASAP End Date : Ongoing Shift Type : Days (Flexible schedule) Responsibilities : Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exams : Conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments for veterans. Exams are interview-based , with some physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, etc.). No treatment or prescription required. Coverage Options : Travel and perform exams at designated facilities. Option to schedule veterans within your own practice. Work part-time (4-hour shifts) or full-time (8-hour shifts), depending on your availability. Qualifications : Specialty Requirements : We are accepting physicians from the following specialties : Family Medicine Internal Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Physicians with a general medicine background or experience in compensation and pension exams. Familiarity with : Musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions. Proficient in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. System Requirements : Must use a goniometer for physical assessments. Proficiency with diagnostic tools related to veterans' health assessments. Certification Requirements : Board Certified in your specialty. Active and unrestricted Alabama medical license . Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available, certification required after privileging).
