PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Hey there! The May Center Home, School, and Center Based Program in Western Massachusetts is on the lookout for a talented part-time Physical Therapist.

This role, based out of our West Springfield office, will focus on delivering direct services for our Early Intervention program.

Early Intervention is a program funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) that provides supports to children from birth to age 3.

• A child may be eligible for services if s / he has a developmental delay. This could mean that he or she is not saying many words;
• not sitting, crawling or walking when expected; has a diagnosed disability such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or autism;

and / or lives in an environment that would put him or her at risk for developing delays.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to children for whom therapy supports are identified in their Individual Family Service Plan
• Complete a specific assessment to document child's status
• Collaborate with parent to develop specific functional outcomes using family friendly terminology
• Maintain on going contact with child's service coordinator to ensure consistency in service delivery
• Train and provide consultation to staff as needed
• Attend IFSP and school meetings
• Document session notes after each visit
• Supervise PTAs as needed

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions
• 2 years experience supporting infants and toddlers preferred
• Knowledge of child development
• Must have reliable transportation
