Laboratory Assistant
Roles and Responsibilities :
Lab Operations Duties :
- Master instrument knowledge and basic reprocessing requirements.
- Understand and execute lab setup requirements, including system movement and preparation.
- Manage equipment inventory and robotic Instrumentation & Accessories (I&A).
- Prepare instrument trays and maintain equipment records.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and seek assistance when needed.
General Responsibilities :
- Perform turnover duties and manage supply stocking, including monitoring expiration dates.
- Maintain cleaning and sanitation schedules according to Work Instructions (WI).
- Perform additional duties as required to support company objectives.
Veterinary Technician Support Duties :
- Assist with technical tasks such as animal preparation, sedation, catheterization, intubation, and sheath placement.
- Support monitoring and troubleshooting of standard cases under the guidance of Vet Techs.
Skill / Job Requirements :
- Minimum high school diploma; Associate’s degree preferred (in vet tech programs, biology, or animal science).
- Minimum 6 months experience (lab animal or clinic) with basic anesthesia knowledge.
- Strong commitment to animal welfare and ethical practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other common software.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
- Exposure to various workplace hazards such as radiation, noise, allergens, biohazards, and chemicals, with adherence to safety protocols.
