- Under the direction and supervision of Director, Pharmacy Services and under the clinical supervision of the Pharmacist on duty, is responsible for a variety of duties to support the pharmacy, including : daily activity of distribution refilling / restock and compounding of solutions;
- utilizing established policies and procedures to maintain and distribute pharmaceuticals to patient care units, special services and other areas throughout the Hospital;
preparing products dispensed by the Sterile Prep Room, such as large and small volume parenterals, chemotherapeutic preparations, parenteral nutrition solutions, irrigations, skin tests, etc.
Minimum QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredpletion of a pharmacy technician course preferred.
ExperiencePrevious experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician preferred.Licensure and / or CertificationCurrent registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ICPT) required.SkillsComputer skills required. Meditech and Omnicell preferred.
Strong customer service skills.Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.Ability to handle medications with a high potential for abuse.
Ability to maintain confidential information.Strong attention to accuracy and detail.Must be able to perform math calculations.
