Description
Reporting to the Program Manager, the ASL Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and become more independent.
The position supports individuals with developmental disabilities to have a quality of life and promotes health, safety, and well-being.
Serving as an advocate in communicating individual's needs and goals the main duties include helping individuals complete basic housekeeping tasks, transporting them to appointments or other social outings, and helping individuals to implement the safety precautions learned in their respective environments.

Requirements
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Use of personal vehicle, MD driver's license with fewer than 5 points, and valid auto insurance required.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
- CMT Certification Required.
- CPR / First Aid Training Required.
- NADSP E-badge competencies preferred.
- Ability to relate well to staff, individuals, board members, and all relevant stakeholders of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and religions required.
