This full time, permanent Lead Custom Project Automation Electrical Controls Engineer is at an employee-oriented, custom automation machinery engineering and manufacturing company.
The company takes designing custom automation equipment to a new level. The company does machine building from scratch but is also making standard products that are sold around the world.
The engineering group consists of six engineers so an engineer can have a big impact at the company. Engineers here enjoy the challenges of creating custom automation systems.
Engineers can see the designs created being manufactured on the factory floor as they manufacture at the same location. The company promotes from within.
The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following :
- Creating designs for custom automation
- Coordinating, overseeing and mentoring multiple engineers on projects
- Ensuring technical performance and profitability
- Programming and designing custom PLCs
- Ensuring proper functioning of electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and programming for each assigned project
- Taking projects from concept through field commissioning
- Interacting with PLC's, OIT's, robots, servos, vision systems, instrumentation and control devices
- Utilizing AutoCAD
The background of the successful candidate must include the following to be considered :
- Six or more years of custom automation programming and design experience
- Six or more years of HMI and PLC programming and design experience
- Experience with robotics and Servos
- Experience coordinating multiple engineers on projects
- Strong knowledge of designing, building, implementing, debugging and troubleshooting factory floor automation
- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Strong schematics creation experience
- Strong electrical engineering experience including component specification, sizing, panel layout, servos, AC / DC drives, networks and so on
- Possess a solid work history
- Being a US citizen or green card holder
- Having a residence within a 45 minute drive
