Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a CVICU RN with recent acute care experience, active WI or compact RN license, and strong telemetry and CVVH skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes post-cardiothoracic surgery, transplant, and advanced medical device cases
  • Shifts are 12 and 8 hours, rotating between days (0700-1930) and nights (1900-0730), with every other weekend and some holidays required
  • No call required
  • First to float among staff and may be assigned to multiple units or locations during contract
  • Experience and use of NextStage CVVH machine required
  • Telemetry monitoring, including basic arrhythmia, is required
  • Telemetry test must be passed prior to start
  • Care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and those with advanced cardiac devices
  • Part of a multidisciplinary team in an acuity adaptable environment
  • One-week orientation provided, with department-specific start schedule
  • Required to follow department and welcome letter instructions for orientation details
  • Holiday rotations are required
  • RTO requests are reviewed during candidate consideration; generally no more than 2 weeks off per contract
  • First-time travelers are accepted in some units
  • Strict pass / fail telemetry test administered pre-start, with two attempts allowed; failure of both attempts may result in contract cancellation
  • Professional attire as required per unit guidelines

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU or related specialty required
  • Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
  • Basic arrhythmia and telemetry competency required
  • Must pass telemetry test with specified criteria prior to starting
  • Permanent residence must be more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Locals not accepted
