Overview

Base pay range : $88,000.00 / yr - $110,000.00 / yr

NOW HIRING : Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our Circular Products team in Winsted, MN. The NPD Engineer is responsible for multiple projects driving profitable growth. This role will include direct interaction with internal senior, technical and functional leadership as well as our customers' teams. This is an onsite opportunity based in Winsted, MN.

Job Title : New Product Development Engineer

Location : onsite in Winsted, MN

Salary Range : $88,000 – $110,000 per year (Exempt)

(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)

Shift Schedule : 1st shift Monday – Friday Business Hours

Shift Differential : 1st shift – N / A

Role type : Full-time, Exempt

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project plans for new products
  • Achieve approval of APL, QPL, and specified products
  • Ensure market requirements are established and attained
  • Support market growth through innovative solutions
  • Manage day-to-day project team activities and communicate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure successful execution
  • Keep projects on schedule, within scope and on budget
  • Lead project teams to align deliverables with business strategy
  • Identify risks to project deliverables and communicate mitigation plans
  • Submit capital investment requests with business justifications and drive capital project execution
  • Design scale-up equipment to meet safety, quality, and functionality requirements
  • Engage with sales for process requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure equipment reliability and cost targets
  • Incorporate design for manufacturability for new products and enhancements
  • Support transition of design concepts and release information to manufacturing partners
  • Provide ongoing technical / engineering oversight to manufacturing partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience or equivalent with 8+ years in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of project management principles; PMP certification is a plus
  • Strong financial skills a plus
  • Subject matter expert in welding and steel technology; mechanics, electronics and equipment controls
  • Broad knowledge of product design, manufacture and assembly techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and hands-on approach to meeting project scope and timing
  • Computer literate with word processing, spreadsheets, and email
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards
  • Problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication; works well in a team
  • Adaptable to changing work priorities
