SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are looking for an energetic, results-oriented Senior Director, People Operations & HRBP who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships in support of our employees while ensuring excellence in delivery of key projects and objectives.
The individual possesses a track record of successfully partnering across all levels of the organization to solve complex challenges through people-related solutions.
This will require you to think big, use data to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention and, in some cases, to reinvent how work is done.
The primary purpose of this role is to partner with a cross-functional group of subject matter experts to design and execute strategies for how we staff, onboard, develop, motivate, retain, and organize work.
Our People & Talent Acquisition team is a close-knit, diverse, and inquisitive group that is constantly learning from each other and utilizing best practices to drive strategy and optimize the process of creating employee-centered experiences.
A core part of this work will be rolling out programs to support our Elements, including systems, performance, and talent programs, such as :
- Companywide Career Ladders
- Employee Engagement Survey & Analysis
- Talent Development, e.g. Feedback, Goal Setting, Manager training and so on
- Companywide Onboarding Program
- Lead the selection and implementation of a scalable HRIS

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the People Operations function, including HRIS management, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, benefits, and compensation.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide strategic counsel to key functions and management in the areas of organizational effectiveness and development, leadership coaching, change management, and talent management.
- Provide HRBP support to multiple leaders in our Redwood City Facility and assist staff at many levels in optimizing the performance of their teams and resolving issues.
- Work closely with leadership to contribute to creating solutions for best practice initiatives in such areas as employee communication, talent and career development, employee relations, and total rewards.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of a scalable HRIS to support the company’s growth and enhance HR operations.
- Support continued growth and infrastructure by identifying talent gaps and development areas across functions and other areas as the business grows.
- Work closely with senior level management to drive business partner best practices and integrated approaches to talent development, succession planning, career laddering, performance management and other areas that require a unified approach.
- Ensure system workflows and communication is effectively executed across key functions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, particularly those specific to the medical device industry.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role with multiple human resource disciplines.
- Proven track record of success in scaling HR operations in a growing company.
- Experience in medical device or a similarly regulated industry is highly preferred.
- Strong communicator with experience coaching leaders and a proven creative problem-solver with an ability to initiate projects and to drive things to completion.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to align HR strategy with company goals.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly within the medical device industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with HR technologies and systems, including HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and performance management tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on results.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
- Pay range : $230,000 - $240,000 + Annual Bonus + Stock Options
