Data Architect

The Senior Data Architect at Impyrian is a key contract contributor role responsible for overseeing the successful inventory and cataloging of Enterprise level data for our Federal Clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and maintain a Data Inventory to give stakeholders a clearer understanding, visibility and access to datasets. Establish a defined, repeatable process for collecting and maintaining data assets and mapping datasets.

Provide the full range of support required for successful data inventory. This includes, but is not limited to the following :

• Maintain and update the current data inventory.
• Maintain and update the current data inventory dashboard.
• Lead stakeholder engagement to identify new CBP datasets / data assets as well as updates to existing datasets and / or data assets.
• Investigate, analyze and populate a data inventory, focused on descriptive data elements across CBP for all identified datasets and / or data assets.
• Document metadata associated with data elements in the data inventory.
• Analyze data inventory results to identify duplicative data and metadata inconsistencies.
• Perform data enrichment and normalization activities :
• Standardizing data formats and applying consistent naming conventions.
• Removing duplicates and handling missing or incomplete data.
• Enhancing data quality by cross-referencing and validating against trusted sources.
• Applying data transformation rules or algorithms to derive additional insights or attributes.
• Enable Zero Trust : Solicit and obtain all necessary data tagging attributes and classification to support zero trust operations.

Establish a roadmap and determine the technology needed to gather data privilege settings to enable zero trust reporting and analytics.

Minimum Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree in either Electrical Engineering and / or an MBA is preferred.

Experience : A minimum of 10 years of experience in the IT field, demonstrating senior technical ability and leadership with Federal Clients in the fields of Relational Database Administration (RDBMS), including on-prem and cloud experience.

Preferred Education and / or Work Experience :

Certifications : PMP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements :

Travel Requirements : Depending on the project, there might be occasional travel to client sites or other company locations, which may involve walking, standing, and possibly carrying light equipment or materials.

Stress Management : The role can be demanding, involving the management of multiple projects, teams, and client expectations, so the ability to handle stress effectively is important.
