Construction Project Executive

Job Description

Oversee all technical aspects of construction projects exceeding $500M in value. Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to engineering and safety standards. Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise during the planning and execution phases. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations in construction projects. Lead a team of engineers and technical staff to deliver projects on time and within budget. Review and approve engineering plans, designs, and specifications. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients and contractors. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project success.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Technical Director should have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure with at least 10 years in tunnel project leadership.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; advanced geotechnical or tunneling certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated relevant project, design, and construction management experience on projects of a similar nature, size and complexity including mixed ground TBM work and design-build experience.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, mixed-ground tunnel boring machines (TBMs), and underground station construction.
  • Strong understanding of design, procurement, and construction integration on complex transit or heavy civil projects.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to represent the Design-Builder to external stakeholders.
  • Experience with project budgets exceeding $500 million.
  • Proficiency in construction documentation, scheduling software, and document control systems.
