Overview
Roxborough Memorial Hospital is a 131-bed community hospital. The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of the Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls and northwest section of Philadelphia communities for more than a century, having first opened its doors in 1890.
Roxborough Memorial Hospitals School of Nursing has been educating nurses since 1898. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation’s oldest and largest hospital accreditation agency.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling and education to patients regarding surgical and anesthetic options
- Perform thorough anesthetic focused assessment
- Determine safest patient focused plan for anesthesia, analgesia, multi modal pain management, post operative recovery and discharge to home
- Ensure patient understanding and obtain anesthetic specific informed consent
- Order and administer preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative anesthetic medications, including appropriate antiemetics, hemodynamic agents and controlled substances
- Initiate anesthesia by securing the airway (if appropriate), maintain appropriate anesthetic depth, and conduct a controlled emergence and extubation (if appropriate) for given anesthetic
- Complete post operative assessment
- Participate and conduct anesthesia related educational programs
Qualifications
- CRNA’s will have a primary site and be expected to rotate to three local suburban locations
- Conduct anesthetics focusing on general surgical, plastic, urologic, and gynecologic cases
- No neurosurgery, obstetrics, or pediatric surgery
- Collegial environment with MD’s and CRNA’s
- Ability to work independently is required
- CRNA’s take 2nd call with limited call back

- Graduation from accredited nurse anesthesia training program completing requirements for MSN or DNP
- Current certification / recertification as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
- Valid Pennsylvania RN License.
- Current BLS / ACLS / PALS
- Must possess excellent airway skills and venous and arterial access capabilities or willing to learn with our experts
- Minimum of one-year previous experience however, exceptional new graduates will be considere
