Description :
The Pharmacy Technician I performs technical functions for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services under the direct supervision of licensed Clinical Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians level II and III.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work in a setting filling outpatient prescriptions
- Providing excellent customer service to all
- Entering prescription orders into a computerized system
- Filling prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
- Maintaining inventory, cash register / point of sale transactions
- Assist in maintaining an efficient workflow, navigating complex processes and systems
- Understanding and acting in accordance with the laws pertaining to confidentiality
- Basic pharmaceutical compounding non-sterile skills
- Ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff, both in person and on the telephone
- Related tasks as required
Minimum Qualifications Required :
1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Illinois.
2. Any one of the following that equals six (6)months :
A. Successful completion of a formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
B. Work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bilingual English / Spanish
