MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
- Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work during disasters such as Hurricanes affecting the facility.
- Successful completion of the employment screening to include, but not limited to, a national background check and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience in a long-term care or hospital environment.
- Recent experience of at least one (1) year in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
- Experience working with plumbing, HVAC and electrical equipment.
POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent. Incumbent will perform troubleshooting, repair, and document preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical conditions of the buildings do not deteriorate.
- Uses tools, equipment, test and diagnostic devices as needed to complete assigned duties
- Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus of safety and accident prevention throughout the facility
- Maintain, alter, troubleshoot or repair electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing systems and equipment to include closed loop heating and cooling systems, food service equipment and laundry equipment.
- Use tools, equipment, test and diagnostic devices as required
- Install, maintain, or repair electric motors, motor starters, control circuits, pumps, values, lavatories, water closets, sewer lines, potable water lines and other sanitary fixtures
- Perform a variety of construction related duties such as cement and carpentry work, light welding and the repair replacement of floor coverings
- Inspects and maintains records on various equipment to include chillers, boilers, refrigeration and fire protection equipment.
- Assists in investigations and repairs of equipment failures and safety hazards when possible
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
