Summary :
The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator II (RNCE) willassess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate the clinicalopportunities and strategies for improving delivery of diabeticpatient care and staff education regarding such.
The RNCE will actas a liaison with all multi disciplinary departments and servicesconcerning diabetes education. The RNCE will develop and providediabetes education for patients and their families on an inpatientand outpatient basis as directed.
CHRISTUSSanta Rosa Hospital - Medical Center (CSRH-MC), located in theSouth Texas Medical Center, provides a high-level of care throughcompassionate hands, experience physicians, and advancedtechnology, including the da Vinci Surgical Robot System and theMako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted System.
Services at the 178- bedfacility include Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology,diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidneytransplantation at the CHRISTUS Transplant Institute, orthopedics,outpatient rehabilitation and aquatic therapy, Senior BehavioralHealth Center, urology, and the Wound Care and HyperbaricCenter.
Requirements : Education / Skills
Education / Skills
- Graduate of an accredited RN programrequired
- BSN preferred
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)preferred
Experience
- Minimum of three years clinical RN experiencerequired
- Minimum of three years experiencemanaging the care of patients with both Type 1 and Type 2Diabetes
- Familiarity with insulin pumpspreferred
Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Texas RN licenserequired
- Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE)preferred. If not CDE at time of hire, successful completion of CDEexam within 2 years of hire / transfer date is required to remain inposition Current BLS certification required American HeartAssociation
