About The Position
Job Title : Level 1 Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Job Specialty : Psychiatric Nurse Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Rotating Shifts (Day / Evening / Night), Weekends / Holidays / On-Call / Callback Guaranteed Hours : N / A Experience : Minimum 2 years License : NY RN License Certifications : BLS Certification (American Heart Association) Must-Have : Minimum of two years of experience- Telemetry experience Job Description : Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.- Make nursing diagnoses of medical and emotional status and recommend treatment options.
- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.- Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.- Assist clients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.- Test for vital signs and ensure treatments for pain are administered effectively.
- Document all patient information on medical charts and adhere to physician's written orders.- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Keep accurate records of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical record-keeping practices.
- Perform administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.
- Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals.
