Electrical Project Manager Compensation & Benefits
Total compensation for the Electrical Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois is between $80,000 and $95,000.

Electrical Project Manager Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include managing all aspects of Electrical trade work with projects direct to owner and Construction Managers.
- Customer skills, project accounting, technical ability, and cost control ability are all important elements of the job.
- Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A / E representatives, subcontractors, etc.
- Ability to price and work from schematic drawings and wiring diagrams to create layouts / bill of materials for the construction phase.
- Manage all financial aspects of contracts (material and equipment buyouts, billings, payment, subcontractor, income / expenses, value engineering, etc.
to protect company’s interest and relationship with the customer.
- Authorize and approve all project transactions, billings, subcontractor requisitions, material purchases, change requests, etc.
- Ensure project logs and documentation files are maintained (directly or through PA).
- Knowledge of electrical systems on Industrial and Commercial projects from conception through completion, including conceptual design, estimating, pre-construction, construction, and project close-out
- Experience in the contracting world that both self-performs construction work and has had direct craft labor responsibility.
Electrical Project Manager Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in construction leadership specific to Electrical Trade Work.
- If no degree; 5-10 years progressive trade experience including experience in construction leadership specific to Electrical Systems.
- Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Power Point).
- Knowledge of BIM / CAD coordination processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera).
- Union or Non-Union candidates are acceptable.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred but Not Necessary
- PMP Certification
