No Contracts Relocation Assistance Available Medical Stepdown is a unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill medical patients.

We primarily focus on those suffering from respiratory failure and / or other general medical problems that are acutely ill.

Patient population may include : Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, and Ventilated Tracheostomies, Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, End of Life Care This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills Close relationship with pulmonologist Due to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.

22 patient bed unit RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support 24 / 7 Leadership support Collaborate daily with Care Management team, PT and OT, dieticians and pharmacists Overview : Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards. Qualifications : Education : Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and / or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements / demands : Position requires individuals to push, pull, and / or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties Certifications : Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
