We are seeking a Senior DataAnalyst toserve asaliaison betweenthe IT Data Analyst team and the functionalbusinessunits.The role willreport to theDirectorof Dataandwill be key inunderstanding thebusiness needsand aligning them withdata team'sstrategy and architecture.

This role will lead a team of analysts responsible fortranslating business needs into requirements for technical teamsto execute on.

It is imperative that this individual have a strong business acumen, experience interacting withleadership, and an in-depth understanding of insurance data.

This role will lead ateamwhoseresponsibilitiesinclude;determining source to target mappingsforthe loading ofthe Enterprise Warehouse, documentation ofthe technical requirements necessary toenrich data at the source to conform toArgostandards, and ensuring that the data reconcilesto current financials.

TheSr. Data Analyst will also ensure that analysts are meeting objectives and completing assigned tasks ina timelymanner, andwill maintain a backlog inventory of pending items for the team to focus on.

This individual must have excellent communication skills.

What does theSr.DataAnalyst's workdaylooklike?

  • Identify, create and facilitate process design by conducting business and systems processanalysis;focusing on quality improvement and data management ensuring reliability and validity of data.
  • Facilitating business requirement walkthrough meetings and partnering with the business on functional specification reviews
  • Collaborate closely withtechnical teamsto implement the requirements
  • Write SQL Queriesthat will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across data sets.
  • Diving into large data sets, uncovering insights, and providing impactful recommendations.
  • Perform analysis for documenting detailed data lineage (source to targetmappings).
  • Identify data control requirements,i.e.Reconciliations and validations.
  • Reviews, documents, and categorizes current or as-is state of the business process or function including creating flow charts and processmodels, anddevelop portions of the desired future or to-be state of those processes.
  • Organize complex problems into simple solutions and precise business and technical requirements

Required Skills

  • Structured data analysis and data requirements development experience is required.
  • Core responsibility will be totruly understand data and createdata lineagenecessary for data strategy.
  • Strong SQL andExcel skills with the ability to learn other analyticstools.
  • Documentdata and business process flows.
  • Experience in insurance industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience with database and model designis preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to others in a way they can understand.

Experience

  • Data analysis : 10+ years (required)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university inBusiness Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience with Postgres / SQLdatabases.
  • 3-5years of work experience in a relevant industry.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience.

Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

New York City Pay Range :

$133,600 $159,000 USD
