The Role : Software Engineer

The Team : We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing team of development experts. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.

The ideal candidate is experienced with collecting data in various formats and enjoys parsing, transforming, and optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.

The Data Engineer will support our data department on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.

They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Responsibilities and Impact :

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,
• Develop tools and software to be used by data ingestion teams.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements : automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources into SQL Server, MongoDB, and others.
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Create data tools for data quality team members that assist them in building and optimizing pipelines to enhance workflows.
• Work with data and product experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Advanced working SQL Server knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

NoSQL, Big Data, and Custom formats.

• Experience with Visual Studio, Frameworks, .NET Core, and C#.
• Strong skills in Software Engineering, developing Windows / Web based Tools
• Experience with multi-threading both in C# and data integrity in SQL Server
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting values from disconnected datasets or various sources.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.

They should also have experience using the following software / tools : Experience with Framework, .NET Core, C# , etc. (Mandatory)Experience with relational SQL Server and NoSQL databases.

Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS)Experience with Java Script and popular frameworksExperience with Excel and PDF Parsing.

Compensation / Benefits Information (US Applicants Only) : S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000.

Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
