Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced NICU RN with a TX or compact license to provide neonatal intensive care at a pediatric trauma center.
Responsibilities
Position is in the NICU unit of a children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma CenterNeonatal patient population with patient ratios ranging from 1 : 2 to 1 : 4Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts, 7 : 00 to 19 : 00May float between NICU, pediatric ICU, and pediatric units, as well as sister facilities nearbyWeekend coverage is required as needed (PRN)Block scheduling availableEpic EMR is used and prior experience is requiredResponsible for delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill neonatesFloat assignments between facilities or departments may be expected as neededCompletion of required online modules prior to start is mandatoryRNs wear navy scrubs while on the unitMust commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) during assignmentFormer permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting periodFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFree parking available on site and bike racks providedRequirements
Current TX or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent NICU experience requiredAt least 1 year experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or settingAbility and willingness to float between units as assignedMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel considerationReferences from at least 2 supervisors covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are requiredNo disciplinary findings on Nursys background checkEpic EMR experience requiredBenefits
