Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced NICU RN with a TX or compact license to provide neonatal intensive care at a pediatric trauma center.

Responsibilities

Position is in the NICU unit of a children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center

Neonatal patient population with patient ratios ranging from 1 : 2 to 1 : 4

Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts, 7 : 00 to 19 : 00

May float between NICU, pediatric ICU, and pediatric units, as well as sister facilities nearby

Weekend coverage is required as needed (PRN)

Block scheduling available

Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required

Responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates

Float assignments between facilities or departments may be expected as needed

Completion of required online modules prior to start is mandatory

RNs wear navy scrubs while on the unit

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) during assignment

Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Current TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

Minimum of 2 years recent NICU experience required

At least 1 year experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting

Ability and willingness to float between units as assigned

Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel consideration

References from at least 2 supervisors covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required

No disciplinary findings on Nursys background check

Epic EMR experience required
