About this job :

Responsible of managing the District's intensive tier school design processes, including turnaround planning, restart, redesign, School Performance Compact (SPC), and state accountability pathway planning. Leads the implementation and management of the District's Intensive Tier School Design processes and manages the school planning process for all District and state accountability actions, including new school design, state actions, and school closures.

Salary Range $81,118 - $97,340 .

What You'll Do :

  • Leads the implementation of the District's turnaround strategy, including managing the competitive application process for school restarts and redesigns
  • Manages all aspects of the school planning year (Year-0), including principal planning support, community design, facility readiness, curricular supports, budgeting, scheduling, staff hiring and training, and all readiness planning for school to open
  • Manages the school board's process for school improvement and closure for District managed schools (the School Performance Compact), facilitating school teams through an Accelerated Improvement Planning process that culminates in a deep improvement plan with board approval
  • Leads on the District's plan for state accountability actions (Years 1-5) and when schools are identified for a state pathway plan by Colorado Department of Education (CDE), including cultivation and contracting with school operators, facilitating the design, and preparing for state board reports and presentations
  • Implements the community design process based on District decisions around school mergers, closures, and consolidations
  • Leads the District's planning for new schools that are called for through the Call for New Quality Schools, including applicant cultivation, application sponsorship, and application development through the District's competitive application process
  • Manages the start up / launch of school turnaround plans and new school openings, including all aspects of the school's academic and operational readiness and planning for sustainability (phase in) and financial planning to scale over the first five years of implementation
  • What You'll Need :

    High School Diploma / GED - Required

    Bachelor's Degree - School Leadership, Community Engagement, School Start Up, or School Improvement

    Master's Degree - School Leadership, Community Engagement, School Start Up, or School Improvement

    Two (2+) plus years experience working with school based teams or leading professional development programs with schools - Required

    Two (2+) plus years experience with change management processes and community engagement - Preferred

    Two (2+) plus years experience with school start up and district and state policy on school turnaround

    Knowledge of social-emotional intelligence curricula, behavior intervention, and / or multi-tiered systems of support, trauma informed care and implementation processes

    Expertise in school design processes

    Work style that yields high results when working independently or as part of a team

    Ability to foster effective relationships with district staff, schools, and external partners

    Ability to prioritize multiple projects and multi-task without compromising integrity or fidelity

    Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals, establish priorities, and organize resources

    Inspired, visionary who can foster / generate excitement, buy-in and understanding with colleagues and employees outside of the team

    High degree of integrity in handling confidential information

    Proficiency with Google products including docs, sheets, slides and gmail
