The Business and Entrepreneurship departmentexamines the creative industries through a business perspective. By providingstudents with fundamental business, marketing, and entrepreneurial knowledgeand skills, the department deepens a student’s academic studies throughconcentrations focusing on the performing, visual, and media arts;
the musicindustry; and digital marketing.
In addition to its regular, full-time faculty, Columbia CollegeChicago hires scholars, creative professionalsand other industry-experienced Adjunct Faculty to teach courses on a part-time basis.
Thesepositions are not available every semester and are contingent upon studentenrollment and the availability of funding.
Qualifications
To be qualified to teach at thecollege, candidates mustpossess a terminal degree in the relevantdiscipline or atleast one degree above the level at which they teach.
In terminal degree programs, faculty members will possess thesame level of degree. Inextraordinary cases, a history of distinguishedprofessional work, compelling creative achievements, or other significantexperience in the relevant field may be considered as an alternative to the requireddegree.
