Summary
The individual will primarily provide support and coordination for environmental projects and tasks, which includes filed work, as well as assist with the preparation of reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, botany, wildlife biology, engineering or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience assisting with environmental projects and tasks under the supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist or Division Manager
- Detail oriented with the ability to balance project priorities to ensure successful completion
- Ability to perform field work
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with office machinery including computers, fax machine, copier, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
Essential Functions
- Provide assistance on environmental site assessment field work and reports
- Perform field activities which may include assisting with soil and groundwater sampling
- Perform office activities including project planning, permitting, subcontractor contracting, data compilation and presentation, and report preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations (both on the ground and on building roof tops), sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds
Work Environment
Approximately 25% performed in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions.
Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
