The Stovall House is looking for an experienced banquet cook to help its growing private events business. We are seeking out a talented individual with a minimum of 3 years professional cooking and catering experience ranging from traditional ala carte menu service to plated seated events up to 500 people.
Nights and weekend availability is mandatory.
Essential Functions :
- Prepares food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.
Qualifications :
- Professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Experience in catering parties of 200 or more guests
- Ability to take direction
- Must be self-motivated and organized.
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must be creative and have built catering platters before
- Night and weekend availability
General Physical Demands for the Position :
This position regularly stands for long periods of time, bend, stoop, turn, lift, talk, walk, walk on uneven ground, carry and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
