Job Title : Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab Job Specialty : Electrophysiology Monitoring and Care (EMC) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Days, 4x10 Hour Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours Per Week Experience : Minimum of 1 Year License : Current RN License from a State Board of Nursing or a Multistate Compact RN License Certifications : - Current Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program Job Description : Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients;
observe physiological manifestations and intervene when necessary.- Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.- Interact with family and patient in sharing the care plan during hospital stay and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.- Perform other duties as assigned. Skills : Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills. Preferred Education : Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
