Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Manufacturing Design Engineers Provide technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production.

They participate in manufacturing and test requirements development, design for manufacturing activities, manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibility.

They leverage technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream.

• What You Will Do*Acting as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the programApplying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designsRecommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are metDesigning, controlling, and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined teamIdentifying and resolving constraints across the programParticipating in corrective action investigationProviding technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changesDeveloping Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow / routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designsProviding technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineersLeading and coordinating projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams using CORE principlesDeveloping influential relationships with internal customers*Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment* The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
