This position is located at any one of our New England offices in Massachusetts, Maine, or Connecticut. We are also open to considering qualified candidates to work out of our Blue Bell or Princeton, NJ, or New York office.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Ramboll is seeking a full-time Senior Air Consultant with 6 + years of air quality experience. We invite you to bring your enthusiasm and innovation to address our client’s critical problems.

To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of a relevant engineering discipline (chemical, environmental, civil, mechanical, or related) or a relevant science discipline (atmospheric science, environmental science, chemistry, geology, or related) with 6+ years of experience.

As our new Senior Air Consultant, you will be part of our interdisciplinary New England team. You will work with all levels of expertise from junior-level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their fields.

Consultants and Managers are part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job tasks.

The duties of the position include :

  • Estimating air emissions and conducting engineering evaluations of air pollution sources
  • Conducting computer modeling of air pollution dispersion
  • Performing statistical and geospatial analyses of air quality data
  • Analyzing pollution control measures
  • Conducting air monitoring and indoor air quality analysis
  • Preparing air quality permit applications and environmental impact reports
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Maintaining client relationships and managing the development of deliverables to meet client needs in an efficient manner.
  • Serving as the technical lead overseeing Consultant-level staff on complex projects
  • Provide mentoring to junior staff

For this role, we believe your starting point is :

  • BS / MS in a relevant engineering discipline (chemical, environmental, mechanical, or closely related) or science discipline (atmospheric science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, or closely related).
  • Strong mathematical / computational skills including high level use of spreadsheets and word processing
  • 6+ years of relevant air quality permitting and / or air quality compliance experience is required
  • Effective written / verbal communication and organization / analytical skills;
  • Experience recording / writing detailed technical data and reports;
  • Strong computing skills including high level use of spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong written / verbal communication, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
  • Programming, database and GIS skills are preferred but not required
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • EIT or P.E. certifications a plus
  • Can work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Desire to learn and grow in the environmental consulting field
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time on average during the year and possess a valid driver’s license.

Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state.
