Responsibilities
The Laminator Operator is responsible for the following :
Their own personal safety and the safety of others.
- Properly wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) that is appropriate for the task or required by policy.
- Keep machines and work areas in a neat, clean and orderly condition, and free of hazards.
- Assure that all housekeeping is consistent with AIB requirements and current General Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Within the limits of food safety and quality guidelines, employee has authority to take action and make decisions.
- Running the laminator efficiently, with very high quality and low waste.
- Assuring that quality checklist, production reports, and any other necessary documents are properly filled out.
- Monitor all printed material for print defects during quality checks and reporting them to supervisor for review.
- Assuring that procedures are carried out.
- Organizing the pre-setup and obtaining materials necessary to start the next order in a timely manner.
- Has read, understands and follows related work instructions as provided in the Work Instruction Manual.
- Directing the work and the training of their crew in a safe manner. The Laminator Operator can make suggestions for the additional training of individuals on their crew.
- Understands a write-up.
- Completes all training as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Supervisors.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
The Laminator Operator understands and can perform the following :
- Reads and understands a tape measure and the work write-up.
- Understands the mechanics of the laminator and can properly set-up and run the machine to meet or exceed the requirements of Hood Packaging Corporation and the customer.
- Works effectively with their crew, promoting a team environment.
- Is trained and able to properly conduct required quality checks.
- Must be able to operate machine while meeting quality and production goals established by management.
- Must demonstrate good trouble shooting skills and high standards for quality.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma.
Training : Trade school. On the job with qualified Laminator Operator.
Experience : Laminator experience recommended.
Physical Demands : Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
Must have normal color vision acuity.
Must be able to stand for long periods as well as climb ladders occasionally.
Must possess the manual dexterity to successfully operate various measuring devices.
Must be able to work with water-based and solvent-based adhesives.
Must be able to pass background and drug testing.
