Job Details
- A large hospital in Arizona is looking for RN's with MedSurg / Telemetry / Psych experience for a travel assignment on their Visual Medical unit.
- The right candidate will have two years of MedSurg / Tele experience and Psych experience.
- This is for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus and / or St. Joseph Westgate campus.
- We are a MedSurg / Tele Unit that specializes in patients with Mental illness. Psychiatric experience is preferred, but certainly not a requirement.
- I am much more interested in their MedSurg / Tele skills and whether or not the candidate has a desire to work with the mentally ill.
Job Requirements
- The right candidate must hold an active BLS, ACLS and AZ license or compact.
- LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
- candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts.
- All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes.
- SIMs lab is pass / fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field.
Schedule Information
- Charge Nurse : Charge, has patients.
- Nurse Aides : Behavior health techs, Security watches via video.
- Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd weekend.
- Holidays : Work in perm staff rotation.
- Shifts : 12 hr shifts. 7-7.
- Floating : ED psych holds, possibly to MedSurg floors.
- Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts.

- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Medical unit with secondary psych diagnosis. Confused patients, dementia, low cognitive ability

- Scrub Color : Navy, and panic buttons
- Floating : ED psych holds, possibly to MedSurg floors.
