BGS Laboratory HVAC Specialist

Overview

Buildings & General Service (BGS) at the State of Vermont is seeking a Laboratory HVAC Specialist. This position will be responsible for the HVAC and facility maintenance duties at the Vermont Agriculture and Environmental Laboratory (VAEL). Travel between these facilities may be required and will utilize a state owned and / or a privately owned vehicle.

This position will work Monday through Friday, 6am to 2 : 30pm, with possible call-ins after hours or on the weekend. This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of a criminal background check.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed at state laboratories. Laboratories are often researching and / or processing materials and substances that require additional levels of safety and security, which the incumbent will play a role in ensuring these additional levels are met. Must be able to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds; and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas. Climbing, crawling, reaching and standing, for extended periods of time are often required. This position requires emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of an R-410 Safety Certificate.
