JOB TITLE : Medical Assistant (full time, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, OT possible)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting PACU with pain lineups, discharges, etc. In addition this position will assist with all functions associated with the front office and as a member of the patient care team.
These duties include scheduling, coordinating patient services, performing check-in procedures, and collecting co-pays. This position will need to perform certain peri-operative patient care functions, including maintenance and order of medical supply inventory, assisting with transporting patients in the procedural setting, operating room set-up, breakdown and cleaning.
The employee must be an effective communicator in written and verbal communication and have the ability to work effectively with medical staff, authorizations, external agencies and patients.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Two years of related experience in a healthcare organization.
- Certification Required.
- NextGen experience a plus.
