Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for NJMS - Pharmacology. This position is under the direction of the PI, conducting research investigating physiological regulatory mechanisms of mechanically activated Piezo ion channels.

Key Duties :

  • Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including animal surgeries.
  • Operates and maintains experimental equipment; performs electrophysiology experiments studying mechanically activated ion channels.
  • Records and analyzes data from experiments.
  • Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
  • Contributes to the intellectual development of the project.
  • Contributes to the writing of manuscripts.

Terms of Appointment :

Temporary Staff Appointment - Salaried 12 Month

Position Pension Eligibility :

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience :

Candidate must hold a Ph.D.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong background and experience in patch clamp electrophysiology and molecular biology.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in studying mechanically activated ion channels is desirable.
