Responsibilities
Job Summary
The HonorHealth Security Ambassador serves as a first point of contact for patients, visitors, or staff members at HonorHealth facilities.
The position understands and enforces visitor policy, follows designated screening script and process flows, enforces entrance utilization and any related policies (ex : masking, badging), and greets patients and visitors and assists in navigation.
The Security Ambassador performs these functions at ED and main entrances of HonorHealth Medical Centers in coordination with the deployment of various security technologies, or at any other HonorHealth locations designated as requiring these services.
Travel between HonorHealth facilities and / or locations may be required.
Responsible for representing HonorHealth as the first contact point a patient, visitor, vendor, or staff member will encounter upon arriving at HonorHealth.
Serves as a critical team member in facilitating patient and visitor visits. Demonstrates professionalism, effective communication and listening skills, empathy, and ability to effectively interact with patients, visitors, family members, staff and others who may present to HonorHealth.
Establishes and maintains a courteous, respectful, and helpful demeanor while assisting and engaging with patients, visitors, and HonorHealth personnel.
In addition to providing an overall presence, an HonorHealth Security Ambassador ensures consistent policy enforcement and monitors patient and visitor flow within the building.
Interacts with various security technologies, such as visitor management systems and passive weapons detection systems. Reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to the appropriate leadership personnel.
Maintains view only access to the electronic medical records to support verifying information. Required to work varied hours, which may include days, evenings, holidays and / or weekends.
Responsible for assisting in emergency situations. Provides security support during emergencies such as, fire alarms, and intruder alarms.
Remains calm and composed during stressful situations and effectively de-escalates conflict or stressful situations. In the event of emergencies, must take charge of maintaining order, safety and to protect personnel and property.
Some activities can involve interacting with and controlling hostile, belligerent, aggressive individuals involving some element of danger or risk of injury.
May be required to subdue resisting, aggressive, combative and distressed individuals.
- Responsible for completing required training and annual in-services. Participates in security department training and continuing education programs including, but not limited to Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques, Self Defense Tactics & Techniques leading to certification in the use of specialized equipment
- Represents HonorHealth as a brand ambassador. Greets patients, visitors, vendors, and staff with professionalism. Assists other departments with helping guests.

Education
High School Diploma or GED Required
Licenses and Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association within in 2 months of hire 60 Days Required
Taser certification within 90 days of hire by HonorHealth Public Safety / Certified Taser Instructor 90 Days Required
Driver License Required
