Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for The Walt Disney Company, encompassing all aspects of music monetization : Recorded Music (Walt Disney and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing and Disney Concerts.

DMG distributes music both physically and digitally; and also licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming and consumer products.

What You Will Do

You would join a collaborative team performing financial responsibilities for DMG, including budgeting, forecasting, project modeling, and variance analysis.

You will drive collaborative efforts with other Finance, Concerts, and Accounting professionals.

Change is imminent and operations are dynamic, so flexibility is essential.

  • Responsible for the compilation and analysis of the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly forecast & close, and 5-Year strategic planning for Disney Concerts and Licensing.
  • Collaborate with internal finance team members and accounting to improve Concerts planning process, actualize models, and validate forecasting assumptions.
  • Work closely with Concerts / Business Affairs team on creating Produced Concerts P&L Budgets.
  • Prepare Concerts summary, and various investigative analyses for Senior Management.
  • As the lead Finance partner to the Concerts team, be a great teammate and build strong relationships with both internal and external global partners providing financial support while acting as a change agent to challenge the status quo.
  • Ad hoc reporting, in support of the Concerts business. Provide data driven analysis in pursuit of strategic insight.

This is a hybrid role based out of Burbank, CA. The team is in the office 4 days a week.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum two years of finance or accounting experience with keen interest in Entertainment / Music
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel modeling skills required.
  • Experience in enterprise level systems such as SAP, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, Alteryx or experience in similarly related systems
  • Strong working knowledge in key accounting principles
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a constructive curiosity to lead change
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to autonomously and diplomatically work through problems
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects under tight deadlines
  • Flexibility in role and duties given the evolving music industry landscape

Education

Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative field required
