Experience with post-operative CABGs, vascular and general cardiac patient population.

Knowledge of cardiac drips / titrations and electrolyte replacement.

Experience with the management of chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, and TR bands.

Description :

This position involves working in a 33-bed unit with patient ratios of 3 : 1 / 4 : 1.

Unit staffing includes unit secretaries during the weekdays.

Nurse externs may be available at times.

The documentation system used is Meditech.

The scheduling requirements include working every other weekend for a total of 36 hours per week, with additional filling in for scheduling needs as required.

There is a floating policy in place, where staff may float as needed.

Patient experience requirements focus on pain management, communication, and responsiveness.

Certification requirements include BLS, ALS, and EKG interpretation.

A specific dress code is in place, requiring scrubs in Galaxy Blue, Red, or Black.

Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided on orientation day.

The unit is characterized by a mixture of experienced and newer nursing staff, promoting impeccable teamwork.
