Responsibilities

Are you ready to join the industry leader? State Farm is looking for passionate and self-driven IT students to join our Summer Internship Program! The Enterprise Technology department is involved in exploring new and emerging technologies.

This program will offer you hands-on work along with real-world research and development opportunities. State Farm continues to refine and expand the use of technology for employees, agents, and customers.

You will have the opportunity to influence change and help us deliver on our mission to protect State Farm and its policyholders.

Qualifications

We Are Looking for The Following :

• Current Sophomore, or Juniors majoring in Engineering. Students who apply MUST be returning to school for at least one semester following the summer internship .
• Drive and initiative to lead and affect positive change.
• Good technical problem-solving skills.
• Prioritizes quality code and best practices using feedback from team members and industry best practices.
• Willing to navigate the organization using strong soft-skills and communication.
• Able to communicate complex technical topics to a range of non-technical audiences.
• Strong aptitude and desire to learn new languages and frameworks.

Seeking candidates with experience in any of the following :

• Experience building solutions using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform or OpenTofu)
• Understanding of cloud native principles, AWS, and cloud solution architecture.
• Familiarity with application security concepts and best practices.
• Python or Java

SPONSORSHIP : Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.

S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity. Selected interns must reside within the continental U.S. for the duration of the summer internship.

What You Can Expect :

• The internship will occur between May 19, 2025 - August 1, 2025
• Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
• Qualified and competitive candidates will be invited to participate in the interview process, with selected candidates progressing through two rounds of interviewing.
