Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Acute Care

Location : Santa Monica, CA

Trusted Staffe is partnering with a renowned regional acute care hospital in Santa Monica, CA, to find a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team.

This full-time, permanent position offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of patients recovering from various medical conditions.

Responsibilities :

Assessment and Evaluation : Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders.

Personalized Treatment Plans : Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and rehabilitation goals.

Therapeutic Interventions : Utilize a variety of evidence-based interventions, including speech therapy, language therapy, swallowing therapy, and cognitive-communication therapy, to promote functional improvement and enhance communication skills.

Collaboration : Work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.

Patient and Family Education : Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, safe swallowing techniques, and other relevant information to facilitate recovery and enhance quality of life.

Documentation : Proficiently document patient progress and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).

Professional Development : Maintain current knowledge of best practices in acute care speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications :

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.

California state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Minimum of two years' acute care experience, preferably in a rehabilitation setting.

Strong clinical skills, including VF (Vocal Fold) experience.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
