The Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a tenure track position (assistant professor) to begin in August 1, 2025 in American Politics.
While the area of concentration is open, we have preference for scholars who examine empirical questions of diversity, inequality, inclusion, race / ethnicity, and / or gender.
The successful candidate must have strong research skills and a theoretically oriented research agenda that will lead to publication in peer-reviewed outlets (journals and / or books).
Strong quantitative methods skills are a plus. The successful candidate must also demonstrate evidence of, or potential for, teaching excellence.
Evidence of prior notable pedagogy, teaching and outreach (whether formal, or informal) is preferred. The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
