Description0.5 FTE (20 hrs / wk); Monday - Friday, 6 : 00am to 10 : 00am to support the start of the surgical schedule for on-time starts and to support the busiest time of the day.

This position will help prepare our surgical patients, provide support to the nursing staff and providers, assist in department functions, and provide customer service to all patients and families.

  • Assists the professional nurse in meeting basic activity of daily living (ADL) needs of the patient, assists with procedures, and clinical measurements;
  • i.e. vital signs, height & weights, etc. Maintains an orderly and safe physical environment. Specific daily duties are assigned by the work setting or patient population served;

however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams.

Compensation & Benefits : The hourly wage for this opportunity is $17.42 / hour to $26.12 / hour, with a median wage of $21.

77 / hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity.

5 FTE and above.Primary Job Responsibilities : Coordinates time and responsibilities as requested to ensure time is used most efficiently while maintaining top priorities.

Recognizes patient data outside of normal limits and reports to RN in a timely manner.Assists with providing developmentally appropriate care in conjunction with current plans of care.

Completes patient care related duties as delegated by the professional nurse.Assists patients to safely complete ADLs as delegated by the nurse.

Demonstrates safe and appropriate transfer techniques.Delivers family centered care.Responds to family requests for information and assistance.

Ensures that patient care areas are maintained in an orderly manner, orders supplies, ensures that adequate supplies of all forms are available, maintains charts and competently assists nursing staff as requested.

Coordination of patient schedules / tests with multiple departments.Coordination of inter- and intradepartmental communication.

Prioritizing tasks to meet patient and unit / department needs.Responding to a decentralized nursing care delivery system.

Accurate transcription of provider orders.Qualifications : Required : High School Diploma / GEDCurrent CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association) is required.

If candidate holds valid CPR for Healthcare providers through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete CPR BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
