Professor Benjamin's research is in behavioral economics (which incorporates ideas and methods from psychology into economic analysis) and genoeconomics (which incorporates genetic data into economics).

Position Summary
Program Manager will oversee research projects led by Professor Daniel Benjamin and his team, whose research projects lie in the areas of behavioral economics (which incorporates ideas and methods from psychology into economic analysis) and genoeconomics (which incorporates genetic data into economics).
The ideal candidate will possess advanced project management skills and, preferably, a strong understanding of research processes in higher education.
Key competencies include exceptional organizational abilities, the capacity to manage multiple projects and tasks with varying priorities and deadlines, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities The Program Manager manages all phases of projects, grants, and subawards, providing leadership and direction for day-to-day project operations and administrative activities.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : managing and tracking the progress of ongoing projects; facilitating the application and maintenance of data contracts and Data Use Agreements (DUAs);
- submitting and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols for projects and personnel; overseeing compliance with data security protocols and enforcing best practices;
- contributing to the grant writing and budgeting processes; managing post-award grant reporting and overseeing the execution of subawards;
- overseeing overall financial budgeting, resource allocation, and expenditure tracking; providing financial projections and reporting to internal stakeholders at UCLA;
- obtaining purchase orders and ensuring timely payments to vendors and consultants; assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of research assistants and other team members;
and supervising the allocation of researcher effort and approving timesheets. A background in economics, statistics, survey research, or genetics is preferred, though expertise in quantitative methods is not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential. Location : This is a hybrid position (on campus and remote), as mutually beneficial.
Fully remote may be an option at some point during employment. The working for this role is stated as Program Manager but can be Project Manager or Program Director, depending on the hire's experience.
This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension into a permanent role, contingent upon a number of factors including performance and departmental needs.
Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications
- Program / Project Management Minimum of 5 years of work experience managing programs or projects. (Required)
- Combined experience / education as substitute for minimum education. (Required)
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. (Required)
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing and high-demand environments. (Required)
- Directly related education and project administration experience in specialized field represented by project. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of applicable laws / policies / principles / etc. (Preferred)

- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
- Master's Degree Master's Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Preferred)
