About The Position
Job Title : MSW Social Worker Job Specialty : Emergency Department Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (Nights) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years post-MSW in Emergency Department, Medical Social Work, Case Management, Brief Treatment, Oncology, or Cancer Support License : Mass LCSW Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have : Cultural Responsiveness, Generalist Social Work, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Treatment, Mandated Reporting, Trauma Management and Support, Managing Complex Psychosocial BarriersJob Description : - Conduct psychosocial assessments and make psychosocial diagnoses.
- Plan and implement effective treatments for high-risk patients and their families.- Provide education, supervision, coaching, and mentoring to patients and their family members.
- Consult, collaborate, and communicate with a wide range of social, governmental, and legal agencies, courts, schools, clinics, hospitals, and physicians.
- Focus on increasing access to quality health care and reducing barriers to discharge.- Provide emotional and resource support through strength-based and trauma-informed interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess the impact of illness or injury on patients' lives and advocate for health equity.
- Promote health and reduce health inequities by educating and empowering patients and families.- Engage in planning family meetings and collaborate on goals of care conversations.
- Attend multidisciplinary rounds and address advanced care planning needs.
