This role is based in San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About The Role

• You'll help scale and expand capabilities of Patreon's payment platform that helps creators get paid effectively and on time, every time.
• Lead and contribute to the development and design of the Payments platform and tools to support the payment processing at Patreon.
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to improve our automated testing and reliability of our payments platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build new functionality, while maintaining a delightful user experience, motivated by passion for our shared mission.
• Work with a supportive team to get things done with the right mix of quality and agility.
• Work with Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, MySQL, and AWS, introducing other technologies when it makes sense.
• Build a strong product-minded, engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers inside and outside the team.

About You

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Excited to maintain a high standard of quality and craft with an eye for user experience and engineering detail.
• A track record of building systems with attention to detail, high reliability, and high throughput.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, monitoring and maintaining code in a service-oriented architecture.
• Proactive in communicating with your peers and cross-functional partners.
• Experience building products in the payments domain is a plus, but not a strict requirement for this role.
