We are searching for our new full-time Veterinary technician to support our Critical Care departments!

About the job :

• Fulltime positions open in swing and overnight shifts
• 4 / 10 schedule
• Triaging incoming patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limited to : home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
• Compensation Range : RVT : $25.00 - $40.00 hour SVA : $25.00 - $36.00
• $8,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 Hiring Bonus for Veterinary Assistants (for full-time, new to SAGE hires) for overnight roles.
• $7000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $5000 Hiring bonus for veterinary assistants for swing shift roles.
• $6000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $4000 Hiring bonus for day shift roles.
• Shift differentials available! $3 / hour swing shift, $5 overnight shift

The ideal candidate :

• You are a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• You are able to remain composed during stressful & emotional situations while remaining motivated, trustworthy, and team-oriented.
• You' re looking for an opportunity to utilize your full skill-set while simultaneously learning new & advanced techniques.
• You are committed to outstanding client service, exceptional patient care, and you really want to make a difference!

Basic Required Qualifications :

• High school diploma
• 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as Senior Vet Assistant
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
• Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
• Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role;

this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
