Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a Student Services Analyst Senior (Short-Term). This position coordinates, administers, and implements career and transfer services within the Career and Educational Planning department while overseeing other assigned employee groups and department functions.

This position performs advanced operational assignments related to Student Affairs and may serve on committees and project teams.

This position has an expected job end date of May 9, 2025.

Essential Functions

30% - Manages the day-to-day operations of the Career and Transfer Center and assigned responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to, staffing and scheduling, absence management, performance evaluations, monitoring budgets, and maintaining customer service standards.

Supervises and evaluates assigned staff to ensure accountability. Implements department goals and objectives and monitors progress towards goal attainment.

Serves as a point of contact for student concerns. Provides front-line services to students and the community. Represents the department director as needed.

30% - Develops and implements career and transfer activities to include career and transfer information sessions, fairs, workshops, and other related events.

Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to deliver programs that align with college and district strategic plans and outcomes.

Cultivates and maintains working relationships with key stakeholders such as business, community, and university partners.

Delivers presentations; maintains and updates marketing material and website information.

15% - Collects and interprets data, and creates reports related to services. Conducts assessments of services and implements necessary changes to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency.

15% - Evaluates training needs. Plans, coordinates, and conducts training and professional development programs. Develops an onboarding process for new team members.

10% - Attends college meetings and training; stays current on industry and department-related trends; performs other related duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and four (4) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and six (6) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master’s degree or higher

B. Two (2) years’ experience working in a college or university setting

C. Two (2) years’ experience working in a career center and / or academic advising department

D. Two (2) years’ experience supervising staff, including student workers, part-time or full-time employees in a college or university setting.

E. Experience collaborating with faculty and staff on career and educational planning and providing services in support of student success.

F. Experience tracking, monitoring, and reporting on department outcomes and achievements.

G. Communication in Spanish (speaking and writing)
