- Create a safe environment for patient care and report any unsafe conditions immediately.- Practice aseptic technique, isolation, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of Radiation Safety, Material Safety Data Sheet, and Fire / Safety policies and procedures.- Use two patient identifiers before beginning an exam, ensuring confidentiality per HIPAA policies.
- Administer oral contrast as needed and prepare patients for radiographic / fluoroscopic examinations.- Assist Radiologists during procedures and demonstrate proficiency with all x-ray equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly.- Complete all assigned procedures efficiently and use downtime productively within the department.
- Maintain medication security for authorized personnel only.- Demonstrate competence in providing services to all age groups.
- Ensure competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups.- Manage and utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS proficiently.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as needed.- Use password confidentiality and maintain phone etiquette when addressing inquiries.
- Keep work areas stocked and reorder supplies when necessary.- Perform duties outside of direct assignments when needed.
Unit Information : Staff : 17 staff members including 16 Interventional Radiology Technologists and 1 Imaging Assistant.
- Patients per day : 6-10 on the second floor and 10 cases per day on the first floor.- Equipment : Philips Clarity bi-plane unit and Siemens Icono unit.
- EMR System : Merge Hemodynamic system. Preferred Attributes : Flexibility with hours. Policies : Clock in / out time required.
- Lunch breaks mandatory.- Cell phone use policies apply.- Report injuries, sick calls, and missed shifts to supervisors or managers.
