ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Match has an immediate opening for a High School Sub-Separate Classroom Teacher. This position is based at Match High School, 1001 Commonwealth Ave.

in Brighton, MA. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm.

The compensation for Match teaching positions ranges from $61,812-$98,899 and is based on a candidates prior years of teaching experience.

Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.

We are only able to consider applicants who have current US work authorization.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We make it a high priority to effectively support students with disabilities at Match. Approximately 20% of Match students are on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Special Education Teachers provide instruction and support to students with IEPs. The Special Education Sub-Separate Teacher reports to the Special Education Director and is responsible for :

  • Providing instruction and student support in the high schools sub-separate classroom.
  • Helping to manage the schools Special Education programing including, but not limited to : completion of necessary paperwork and filing, teacher professional development, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing / screening, and upholding of applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements.
  • Upholding high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
  • Participating actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;
  • Assisting with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and
  • Serving as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community

We are looking for applicants who :

  • have at least two years of full-time experience as classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting;
  • hold a valid and appropriate Special Education license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or can obtain the licensure within a year of date of hire;
  • believe that all students can and will succeed;
  • Have a desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback;
  • have a proven record of student success and achievement; and
  • demonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work.
