JOB DESCRIPTION

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) RegisteredNurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team, and isresponsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by thenursing team.

The RN manages and provides patient care activitiesfor a group of patients and their families through application ofindependent judgment, communication and collaboration with all teammembers including ancillary and support services.

The role of theRegistered Nurse at the DMC encompasses leadership, partnership,collaboration, teaching and supervision.

The DMC RN :

• Establishes andmaintains collaborative relationships with physicians and otherhealth care providers
• Delegates, assesses, providesand evaluates patient care
• Provides and delegatespatient care activities to team members
• Monitorspatient progress and prepares patient for discharge
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates inshared decision-making activities

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduationfrom a school of nursing required.

2. BSN preferred.

3. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) inthe state of Michigan required.

4. American HeartAssociation (AHA) BLS required.
