As a Direct Support Professional - Respite Service Assistant you will provide personal care and supervision for children with special health care needs in a group setting.
Services are provided at our Johnston Respite Center.
Schedule : Friday and Saturday 11pm- 7 am This is an overnight awake position.
What You’ll Do
- Have fun with kids while their regular caregivers get a break.
- Be creative while engaging children in activities.
- Provide care for up to 3 children at a time in a group setting.
- Receive ongoing training and supervision.
- Great resume builder for those interested in social work, education, therapy, psychology, and nursing.
What You'll Need
- Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
- Ability to electronically document services provided.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Will be required to become certified for medication administration and g-tube feedings as well as other specialized training as identified.
- This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. Specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently lift, bend, reach, and stand.
