Job Summary :

Position will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of components, finished goods and packaging materials in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Daily review of material inventory levels.
• Actively manage component and finished goods inventory levels to achieve desired turns and service levels.
• Maintain appropriate level of packaging materials.
• Establish and maintain productive, mutually-respectful supplier relationships.
• Issue purchase orders to domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers.
• Maintain vendor performance data.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities
• Set raw material and packaging material standard costs and monitor price movements regularly.
• Complete trend analysis to identify changes in customer buying habits.
• Create & implement a part identification system for packaging & marketing elements.
• Assist in new product development

Essential Skills :

• Strong computer literacy with ERP systems experience required.
• Previous experience must include purchasing and inventory management; vendor selection and evaluation process experience is desired.
• Experience with Asian-based suppliers.
• Analytical and process-oriented skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to accurately gather and report information.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve in an effective, timely and cost-appropriate manner.
• Must be self-motivating and capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
